10) Prayer and Prostate Cancer

Before going into Cancer Fighting Supplements I’m taking for Prostate Cancer, this is a good time to talk about something I have been doing from the beginning of this journey. It’s called PRAYER. Does it work? Absolutely, without a doubt, the answer is, YES!

I think of myself more spiritual than a ‘religious’ person. ‘Religions’ and I often have difficulty getting along. I question the rules that seemingly make little sense. I’ve never been able to understand why so many Religions feel their ‘way’ is the ‘only way to salvation’. To me, there are so many paths, all leading to the same place. Baptized as a Catholic, by the time I was in college I was attending other churches trying to figure out where I fit. I traveled through the standard Christian churches for years, then looked at Buddhism and even the way of the Tao. Finally I ended up developing my own understanding of my relationship with God, which thankful to say is still a delightful work in process.

Today I believe that God is everywhere and in everything, from the vastness of the cosmos, to the blade of grass in our garden, to the tiniest of particles that make up the cells in our individual bodies. Since I believe that God is everywhere then simply put: God Is. Since God is everywhere, all-powerful, all present, and within everything, then I am also part of God, therefore: I Am. And since I Am so is everyone and everything on this planet. We are all connected to the divine source, God. How can there be any separation within the divine? Even the air that is between our individual bodies is filled with the same God essence that makes up the cells of our bodies, therefore, We Are. My personal belief is that there is only One Life past, present, future, seen and unseen; and that we and everything are all connected. I believe that One Life is the life of God manifest, and because that Life is God’s Life, it is Perfect, Whole, Complete, Abundant, Healthy, Joyful, filled with God’s Love and Life. Most importantly I believe that I am here to experience all Life has to offer, and as part of God I have the ability to choose to accept what form that will take.

Throughout this process I have come to understand that ‘Prayer’ in all its’ many forms can and does work Miracles. When we Pray, we connect with the God Self that is the soul of our being and the collective consciousness of God that makes up everything. It matters little the form of Prayer or if you are Christian, Jew, Buddhist, Muslim, Hindu or any other member of a multitude of different Religions. What matters is that you do Pray, and the strength of your belief in your prayer. Prayer of course comes in so many forms. Within all those forms the most effective Prayer will have the common traits of: (1) Clearly ‘Stating’ what you Want and expect; (2) Knowing that what you want is already available and will manifest; (3) Seeing, Feeling, and Experiencing as best you can what you Want as already done; (4) Then releasing the Prayer knowing it is done while graciously Giving Abundant Thanks for the outcome. The final step is to Allow the Prayer to Happen, while still gently taking all the steps that present themselves after the Prayer to accomplish your purpose. This is called listening to Divine Guidance. How long should you Pray. The simple answer is: as long as it takes.

The Results of Prayer can be greatly enhanced with the help of others Praying with, or for you. Join a Prayer Circle, Songa, or Prayer Support Group. I cannot over emphasize the importance of this step. Having multiple people Pray for your health will enhance your ability to Release Your Prostate Cancer a thousand times over. You also will be Praying for their needs and requests as well. Remember there is no shortage to God’s good energy and love. My wife and I are members of two Prayer groups and I receive tremendous strength from the combined support.

Meditation is another wonderful way for individual Pray. You may put on some easy music. Then just relax your breathing and quiet your thoughts after a short Prayer. Allow yourself to Listen to what comes to you. Are there steps for you to take? Are there fears showing up for you to address? Just 20-30 minutes of meditation daily will provide a great recharge for your mind and body. I often to start my meditation with the following Prayer:

God Is

I Am

We Are

There is One Life

That Life is God’s Life

That Life is Perfect, Whole, Complete, Abundant, Healthy, Joyous

That Life is My Life Now

I know that every cell in my body is filled with God’s Life, God’s Love , God’s Good Energy

I know that my Prostate is filled God’s healing Love and Energy

I release any Cancer Cells from my Prostate, from my body.

I Know that every cell in my body is working in harmony with every other cell,

for a strong, vibrant, healthy body.

I release this to the universe knowing that it is done, right here, right now.

Thank you, Thank you God

One final note if you want to heal faster, whatever you do be sure to surround yourself with positive people who support you, seeing you as getting better and healthy. This is the same for any support groups you may attend or join. What we believe both consciously and subconsciously becomes our reality. More and more today people are finding this to be true. If you want a scientific reason, just take a look at the work done with quantum physics, string theory and quarks. The bottom line is this, if you surround yourself with those who are into negativity, drama, or feeling sorry for themselves, your life will reflect the same. If you gather those to you who are solution oriented, positive, and upbeat even in the face of adversity, your life will be better and you will heal faster.

9) More on Dairy and Prostate Cancer

There are an estimated 30-50 Million American ‘Adults’ (even more children) who are Lactose Intolerant in one form or another. Certain ethnic groups experience this intolerance in far higher numbers. For instance Asians and American Indians may experience Lactose Intolerance in up to 80-100 percent of their populations. The quality of life for those Lactose Intolerant is often diminished and yet they can’t quite put their finger why, so they just continue to suffer in silence. Symptoms of this intolerance, occurring immediately or to up to a few hours after eating, may include: skin rashes, chronic skin reactions, itchy nose and eyes, sneezing, runny nose, wheezing, breathlessness, coughing, nausea, cramping pains, bloating, vomiting and diarrhea. Doctors often misdiagnose Lactose Intolerance and true Dairy Allergies, or ignore it entirely, leaving their patients to wonder what is wrong with them.

Now let’s add those with Celiac Disease or Gluten Intolerance to this discussion. This is believed to be an autoimmune disorder that attacks the small intestine when exposed to the Gluten most commonly found in Wheat, Rye and Barley. Symptoms of Celiac Disease and Gluten Intolerance often include: bloating, diarrhea, fatigue, osteoporosis, arthritis, vomiting, autoimmune disorders, neurological problems, osteoporosis and even Cancer. This can be a chronic condition that tends to flatten and damage the villi and microvilli in the small intestine causing ‘lack of absorption’ thereby robbing the body of essential nutrients. In simple words you can eat lots of food, vitamins and supplements yet still be starving yourself. Over time the damage may progress further to transferring poisons into your body through a Leaky Gut Syndrome.

Today Celiac Disease is on the rise. Since the 1950’s the number those suffering from it have grown by 500%. It is unknown why this is happening but there may be a link to the more extensive use of Glutens found throughout today’s processed and ‘fast foods’, or even that our immune systems aren’t used as much as in the past. It is estimated at least 3 Million People have Celiac Disease and that does not begin to count those that are Gluten Intolerant.

Celiacs with damaged villi are no longer capable of catching and breaking down the Lactose they receive through Dairy. As they consume more Dairy, they continue to damage their body even further. Celiacs may experience a high rate of Lactose Intolerance and problematic symptoms long after removing Gluten from their diet. There is a train of thought that once Gluten is removed from a Celiac’s diet, the villi may repair themselves in one to two years and Dairy digestion would again be possible. Though if you are dealing with Cancer, why would you even want to consider re-introducing Dairy. Rice Milk, Almond Milk, Non-GMO Soy Milk, and Hemp Milk provide excellent options for Dairy, and there are fabulous Vegan Protein Powders as a direct substitution for whey Dairy protein.

It is also important to consider the several Gluten Cross Reactive Foods that 'may' plague one with Celiac. In these cases the immune system reacts with these as if they were Gluten. Some of these include: alpha and beta-Casein, amaranth, buckwheat, casomorphin, cheese, chocolate, coffee, corn, hemp, milk, millet, oats, potato, quinoa, rice, sesame, sorghum, spelt, tapioca, and yeast. Many people have little reaction with these, but it is wise to be tested just to be sure. Remember your body is unique, as are your food allergies and sensitivities. Anything that improves to your immune system will enhance your ability to heal.

In addition to Lactose Intolerance it is estimated around 50% of those with Celiac Disease and Gluten Intolerance also have an Allergy or Intolerance to Casein, the protein found in Dairy. This allergy will often extend to all forms of Dairy including eggs, cheese, whey, yogurt, and other cow/goat milk products. (Please read the previous post: 8) Treatment Begins – Dairy, Meat, and Prostate Cancer) My life is a perfect example of this process. Removing Gluten from my diet made a major difference to my health but I was continuing to experience troubling symptoms. It was not until I was properly tested by BioTek Laboratories and found I had severe allergies to Dairy did I start to really feel better. (Please read the previous post: 4) Decision for the Prostate Biopsy and Food Allergy Relief)

After 60+ years on this planet, my belief is that much of the disease we experience today comes solely from our environment. What we put into our bodies, and what we surround ourselves with both physically and mentally makes all the difference. In retrospect I probably had Celiac for much of my life along with Dairy Allergies. I was starving my body of essential nutrition though I was eating abundantly every day. This in turn compromised my immune system allowing the Prostate Cancer to take hold. I grew up in a mildly poor to middle class household where milk, sugar cereal, white bread, meat, potatoes, overcooked vegetables and sugar filled desserts were the norm with little deviation. That diet continued for much of my life. I wish I knew then what I know today. I now have the personal belief that my Prostate Cancer is the direct result of past diet.

If you take away anything from this Blog, I urge you to consider what you put into your mouth. Learn to Read the Ingredient Label first before purchasing. If there is Dairy, or Chemicals in the product you can’t understand, RUN AWAY! If you are experiencing any of the symptoms mentioned here, Get Tested Immediately for food Allergies and Celiac Disease by professional services similar to BioTek Laboratories through a professional source like Bastyr. The longer you wait may only cause further damage to your body and shorten your life.

If you have Prostate Cancer now, immediately do something about it. Relying only on standard medical procedures may prolong your life for a short time without releasing the Prostate Cancer or removing the cause. Ask yourself this question now, “How do I ever expect to heal if I am continuing to put the same crappy food into my body that caused the problem?” Allergies not withstanding, if you are eating Dairy and Meat you are on a slippery slope. Think of yourself as in a race. The prize is Continued Life. Each day you improve your health with a proper diet will extend your life further. The choice is yours.

8) Treatment Begins – Dairy, Meat, and Prostate Cancer

Not more than once the question crossed my mind, why did I have Prostate Cancer? I was reasonably healthy, not to overweight, active, ate all the ‘correct’ foods like ‘milk and cheese’ for protein, building a healthy body and strong bones according to the ads.  Deep down, I knew that if I didn’t find out the ‘why’ regarding my Prostate Cancer, then treatment was doomed. After months of research, what I leaned was both SHOCKING and sad.

I learned if you really want Prostate Cancer then just continue eating lots of dairy (and animal products)! In fact the Casein and other chemicals found in cows milk may be some most dangerous chemical carcinogens of all foods. Worldwide there will be over 400,000 new cases of Prostate Cancer diagnosed annually. It’s one of the Most Common Malignancies among men and the focus of extensive study. Continually these studies have found a direct link between the consumption of milk/dairy products and the increase of Prostate Cancer. Up until the point of my recent test revealing a severe allergy to dairy (See: Blog #4) Decision for the Prostate Biopsy and Food Allergy Relief). I had been consuming large amounts of milk, cheese, yogurt, butter, ice cream, cottage cheese, and anything else dairy. Guess I was a ‘dairyholic’. I believed it was good for me because that’s all I heard on the ads, and from our general medical profession. The real truth about dairy changed my world. I hope it will change yours.

In one Harvard Study of male health professionals, men who drank two or more glasses of milk a day were almost twice as likely to develop advanced prostate cancer as those who didn't drink milk at all. In another report rising rates of dairy consumption in Japan were linked with rising death rates from prostate cancer. Per Ganmaa Davaasambuu a physician (Mongolia), a Ph.D. in environmental health (Japan), a fellow (Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study), and a working scientist (Harvard School of Public Health), "The milk we drink today is NOT nature's perfect food." She goes on to state the potential risk from cow’s milk is large, and heightens the risk of cancer. So what if you already have Prostate Cancer. Studies have indicated that simply changing your diet will make a real difference for your recovery. It has been shown that a low fat, high fiber (vegetarian) diet will significantly reduce the growth of prostate cancer, and there has been several links between the calcium in dairy and Prostate Cancer. Animal protein from meat has also shown a direct link to Prostate Cancer. In other words if you want to live longer, eat more vegetables and fruit. Eat less dairy and meat if you want to live long and be healthy without cancer.

Dr. T. Colin Campbell in “The China Study” details one of many links between cancer and consumption of animal protein, dairy and meat. He found that Casein, which is 85% of the protein in dairy, promoted cancer in all stages of its development. His conclusion: the only safe protein is plant-derived protein. In a further study Dr. Campbell found consuming more than 10% of protein in ones diet from Casein turned on cancer cells, while reducing the Casein to 5% turned them off.

Prostate Cancer is not the only reason to be concerned about dairy in your diet. In a World Health Organization 25-year study mortality from coronary heart disease was lowest in countries emphasizing diets of vegetables, fish, plant based oils, and legumes while countries with the highest heart disease emphasized diets of meat, milk, sugar, potatoes and eggs. The World Cancer Research Fund recommends a "predominantly plant-based diet" and lists fruits and vegetables as convincing, probable, and possible risk reducers for cancer. Also hip fractures worldwide were highest in countries consuming the largest amounts of dairy. So much for dairy building strong bones. In fact dairy works to turn the body acidic, actually causing calcium to be leached out of bones. The real question becomes how much longer are we willing to risk the quality of our lives?

Based on this research, and much more, I began my process to Release Prostate Cancer with a rather large change in diet. Knowing it not enough to just drop certain foods, I decided a complete change was in order. I chose to become Vegan (not in a fanatical way) and looked for ways to enhance my daily intake of nourishment. I began juicing with fresh vegetables and fruits and making my own vegetarian soup, along with increasing my intake of rawfresh fruits and vegetables. Another significant change was only buying Organic and Non-GMO. Why should I continue to ad something to my body laced with chemicals that would stress my immune system when nutritious quality organic food is still available? I also began taking several vital Supplements to support my Release of the Prostate Cancer. If you are wondering what a sample of my daily food intake looks like, just check for it on the above tab... Basic Cancer Diet.

The results so far have been marvelous. I’ve easily lost the excess 20 pounds I was carrying, and feel more energized and mentally alert. I have also released many of the aches and pains my body was experiencing. The better news is that my last PSA test was down to a 3.2. Definitely headed in the right direction.
